Mark Your Mind

Marking your mind
speaking
no fear
shedding some light
on rights we hold dear

I voted today. I voted late, but I made sure I got there before it closed. My kids were interested in the process. I explained it as best I could. Maybe next time I will bring them with me. It's important to show our little ones the importance of this right. I hope they will mark their minds when the time comes.

  1. I was number 4 in my little mountain top voting place at 6:05 in the morning. The polls were open for 5 minutes when I voted and so they were averaging almost one vote per minute. If every minute of the voting time were like that, EVERYONE on the mountain would have voted!

  2. It's so important your kids this see this process. I remember doing that. Wonderful poem, great model.

  3. I love your poem. It brought back memories of taking my own children to the polls with me when they were little.
