I have always known that music was powerful. It can change your mood, release memories, teach, it is magical. I was moved yesterday by a video that Liam Finn posted on Facebook. This man's reaction is so touching and his description of what music is to him will move you. You will watch him brought back to life. It seems poignant to post on this day of love, resurrection and celebration. Happy Easter.
Betsy, you've given me such a gift this Easter morning. You may not know, but my husband suffers from Parkinson's/dementia & I've recently had to place him in a nursing home. He too loved music, managed rock radio stations early in his life, & perhaps this is something that will help bring some happiness to him. I will be sure to share this with those who care for him now. Thank you! Music is a wonderful thing for sure!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad this brought you a bit of joy. I confess that I was very hopeful that you would see this early in the day. A life is made richer when music is a part of it. I am hopeful for your husband that music might make his life richer once again.
DeleteThank you for sharing this poignant video - it reduced my husband and I to tears! My Mom has Alzheimer's; my mother-in-law passed away from Alzheimer's, and, in the couple years before her death, was in this sad condition that the video portrays - lost in her own world, fairly unresponsive. It was beautiful to see the magic of music! Happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I were also brought to tears. I have watched it at least three times now and the emotion that he sings and speaks with gets me each time. It was truly beautiful. Glad you saw it today.
DeleteBetsy,
ReplyDeleteThis was a beautiful video. Oh, the possibilities....
