I have been meaning to share the samples from our book inspired by Audrey Wood's, Blue Sky.
In her book, each page depicts a type of sky (dream sky, sunset sky, etc.) with a beautiful pastel drawing.
We used chalk on blue paper to make our own "skies!"
This one has to be my favorite. Book sky. Those are little flying books on her paper.
Heart sky.
Butterfly sky.
Rainbow sky.
I love Audrey Wood's books. I always do a unit on her books some time in first grade! I haven't seen that one yet. I will have to check it out! Thanks for sharing the pictures!
ReplyDeleteOh, I will have to get this book! I love how you had your kids make their own skies. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHow fantastic! I love this idea! I will be adding this to my Audrey Wood author study! Might even add it to the Friday lesson plans...sounds like a great "day-before-break" activity! Thanks for sharing the beautiful pictures. Hooray for your students and their creativity!
ReplyDeleteWhat creative little minds! Love the pictures to see their interpretation of the "sky."
ReplyDeleteWhat a special way to extend the learning and understanding about the book! Love the different interpretations of sky.
