We worked (and we are still working I should say) on my son's solar panel science project today. Lucky for us it was a beautiful day outside and a great one for doing a project.
We measured the volts of three different light bulbs and the sun to compare which would put out the most voltage. Not surprisingly the sun won out! Elliot's hypothesis was that the sun would create the most voltage because it's the biggest thing ever. I thought that was cute.
Here are some photos of the fun! Oh, and the beautiful sun too.
Betsy, I stopped here as the lucky #60th blog read since yesterday. It has been quite a journey over the past two days so I am happy to stop here to read about your son's science project. His comment is precious. I noticed that he is not wearing a coat while here on Long Island we are not only wearing coats but had a blast of snow on Friday.
ReplyDeleteWow! Talk about me learning about science - we had nothing "real" like this ever in science. I think I want a do over as I love these kinds of questions! :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun experiment! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon... in the sun baking under the solar heat! :)
DeleteLove the photos - especially, the shadow around your son as he works. What a great science exploration!
ReplyDeleteThank you for including the photographs with your slice. It was fun to see your son working hard on his experiments. A nice way to spend a Sunday. Learning and being with your son.

ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a fun project! We worked on figuring out how much salt it takes to float an egg in water. The project itself was fun but the write up of it? Not so much!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! Love the fact that you're experiencing it with him!
