When I look at those pictures it's hard to imagine that there will be a different door behind them this September. Will it feel like my door, or will I think, this is not my door.

We've done the same thing! My guess is you won't even notice the door as your babies grow. You'll be so focused on those adorable kids that have captured your heart!
ReplyDeleteAs the portal to your home and hearts, it will be your door in very little time. The pictures will even further illustrate the timeline of your family. Best of luck in your move!
ReplyDeleteThis school year was the first year that we had school pictures taken in our new house. The new house was our choice, but it still felt weird to stand in front of a different door! But, like Paula said, when I look at them now, I don't really notice the door. I am looking at the kids and how they have changed since the last picture in front of the door. Maybe you will find the same thing happens to you.
ReplyDeleteI agree - you won't think about the door, your focus will be on the smiling faces and changing kids rather than the changing door. And I suspect you'll love your new door!
ReplyDeleteThis post made me think of a scene from the show This is Us, when Randall takes William to see the house where he grew up, and he can't get over the bricked up door. I'm so sorry you don't have your new door any more. I hope your new one is even better.
ReplyDeleteChange is sometimes bittersweet. May your new home be a place of comfort and peace for you and yours.
ReplyDeleteGreat slice! Moving is hard no matter what the circumstances. You will make the new door yours in short order. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteMaybe think of it as a different door. I have many of those pictures too, and we've moved so there are different doors. The spirits in front of the doors are what matters, and yours are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI am sentimental about these kind of things as well.
ReplyDeleteI feel your heart.
