Day Nine of Thirty-One: Not My Rhythm
I used to sleep and dream
but now the sleep's a stream
that flows along my day
while my eyes remain awake.
I used to sleep and dream
and now I lay awake
thinking of the things
for granted I won't take.
It's been a long week. I have to say I am really looking forward to Friday. After having conferences this week, being out of my classroom for three days (sick kid and then a math training), and trying to keep up with other responsibilities I'd be lying if I said it's all going great. I am in need of a nap that lasts several hours. I'm not talking about a power nap. We are way beyond that. We are talking several uninterrupted hours of sleep. I am hoping that nap pays me a visit this weekend but until then, this is not my rhythm.

I love the title you chose for this slice! Sleep is vital and I know I'm a bear when I don't get enough. Here's hoping you are able to sleep until your body is no longer tired this weekend!
ReplyDeleteI hope you get long uninterrupted hours of sleep! I have conferences next week - going to be exhausting. I'll be in the same boat, wishing for sleep!
ReplyDeleteOoooh, that sounds lovely. A long, deep sleep nap. I hope you get that this weekend!
ReplyDeleteI like your use of rhythm and beat. Good luck finding some sleep!
ReplyDeleteWe are way beyond that...
ReplyDeleteLol, I could just hear you saying that. Get some sleep, friend. Find your rhythm.
Tough weeks. I like how you said that...Not my rhythm.
