Beautiful Day

Waking up this morning, I was caught by rays of sunshine in the corner of my eye. I wondered how warm it was going to be today. Was this a tease?

Snow still settled on the ground outside, no melting that I could see. (Not yet, anyway). I opened the sliding glass door and was met with the freezing air. Simultaneously, the sun forced my eyes closed, and a gentle yet inevitable grin spread across my face.

That cold fresh air mixed with the warm sun made me flip into spring mode. I immediately began cleaning and dusting. I put out my new spring placemats and put up our Easter Egg tree. A new lemon themed swag is now above the sliding glass door replacing the pomegranate winter-themed swag that used to be there. It's crooked, but up! I'll eventually adjust it to the perfect fit.

See that bit of sunlight?

It is feeling like a nice way to start off a month of slicing. It feels fresh, new, and ready.

  2. Happy March and "almost spring"! We had a very similar morning. The sun is shining and the snow is melting here, and every bit of my heart tells me that spring is coming.:) I love that you put out the new spring placemats - willing it to come. Thank you for the uplifting post!

  4. It’s sweet that the sun’s rays coaxed you to usher in spring — indoors of course — this morning with your home decor. Before we know it, spring will actually be here! (Just found out it is in 3/19. Early!)

  6. Happy March! Cleaning is my very favorite way to start a new month, too. :) Feels like wiping away all the ick and grime of winter today, though.

  8. I look at the daffodils and the pussy willow in our yard and yes, spring is on its way. However, I won't put away the hot chocolate just yet.

  9. Spring is in the air at your house, Betsy. The sun was bright today but there is a cold snap here on Long Island. It was a productive day of washing , slicing, and preparing for a presentation but I think your day sounds like a better mix for a feel-good day.
