Appointment Day: SOLSC 7 of 31

Today, both kids had appointments.
Arie was getting their first pair of glasses! Exciting!

I settled into the very squishy chairs while Arie headed off to get the frames fitted.

I got the "hey mom, look at me" face of joy. Arie has been looking forward to this day and was thrilled it finally arrived.

And they can see much better! They could read all kinds of signs on the way home.

Elliot headed off to the orthodontist this morning to get adjustments. His mouth is hurting, but you'd never know it.

He'll be back to his favorite food sources--ramen and applesauce. Hopefully, the soreness is short-lived.
Appointments can usually disrupt the routine. I'm not always a fan of those disruptions. Today, however, it was a welcoming way to start the week. We all had a little extra time to settle into the day.

  1. And isn't it so good to be able to actually GO to these appointments again after not being able to for some time in 2020-2021? These simple life events make everything feel a bit more normal.

  2. It seems to me the only constant during the last two years has been disruption. It was refreshing to read about welcomed disruptions like optometrist and orthodontic appointments. Your daughters glasses are super cute by the way!
